The BirdDog Flex 4K Backpack is an NDI encoder specifically designed for camera mounting. It offers various functions for converting HDMI signals to NDI streams and is ideal for mobile and compact deployments. The Flex 4K Backpack provides an additional 15W of power, allowing the DC output to be used to power a monitor, recorder, or even a camera. With an NP-F 2500mAh battery connector and a 15W output, it allows you to encode NDI, power a monitor, and record simultaneously.
The BirdDog Flex 4K Backpack also offers the following main functions and features:

- 4K NDI Encoder: The BirdDog Flex 4K Backpack can capture HDMI video signals in 4K resolution and transmit them as an NDI stream over IP networks.

- PoE (Power over Ethernet): The device can be supplied with both data and power via an Ethernet cable, which simplifies installation and reduces cables.

- Camera power supply: Provides the ability to power the connected camera directly via the PoE cable, facilitating the use of mobile camera systems.

- HDMI input: The Flex 4K Backpack has an HDMI input to which various video devices such as cameras, computers or game consoles can be connected.

- Tally Lights: Built-in tally lights show which device is currently live or in preview.

- Audio input: In addition to the HDMI audio input, the Flex 4K IN can also record separate audio sources such as microphones or mixers and transmit them together with the video as an NDI stream.

- Web-based control: The device can be configured and monitored via a web interface, allowing easy management and adjustment of settings.
